Absolut Deep Throat

An ode to 70's films that have been over sexualised or even hi-jacked by the American porn industry, such as Caligula.
The third of three designs under the theme "Todays Theatre".

Absolut Alice

Absolut Alice. A nod to fantasy films that pull you into their universe and test your sense of reality.

Guitar Design

I always love to find and make vinyl stickers to put on my guitar (Telecaster). Though it's never planned and can become quite visually disjointed. I tried my hand at a planned custom design for a Fender Strat after watching some videos of Hendrix playing live.

Where Do Ideas Come From?

One of the people I work with (Interning! oh yeah!) is organizing a very cool exhibition in Cork City. The Brief Exchange. Twenty three designers, photographers and illustrators make a brief, then the brief is exchanged randomly among the participants. I am not part of the collective... but I did get a nice sneak peak of all the amazing briefs ( I've never said 'brief' so many times in one paragraph. Brief brief brief).
One brief stood out, 'Where Do Ideas Come From?'. So I created this. It is an exercise in maximalism and poses the idea to look where the ideas are really coming from. Her head? Or that little TV? It's about recycling ideas and sometimes not even being aware of it.

Birdthistle

Some concept work I created for a band in my hometown. They blend rhythmic elements of Traditional Irish music with melodic and memorable aspects of Rock. I used such maximalism with this particular portrait (other than the fact that I love a piece one can explore) to create a visual representation of Birdthistles heavily layered sound, Eg Guitars, bass, mandolin, keys, synth, harmonica. The overall goal was to use rather traditional imagery to create a contemporary piece. To check out the band just follow these links;

Absurd Loyalty - Look Upon Sixteen Tragedies No.2

After doing a portrait of a woman for an Independence Day Gig I have decided to expand upon It. I shall create sixteen portraits under the theme of lust, love and anything vaguely similar, be it good or not.

Acid-House

I found a very old book at my friends house called "The Agony of Ecstasy". An autobiography of someone during the Acid-House scene in Dublin in the early nineties. It tells how he became addicted to ecstasy and LCD and his eventual turn around. I read a bit out of curiosity and quickly found that it was poorly written and could only imagine that it was published for paranoid mothers. I found it so entertaining that I was inspired to do an Acid-House piece.
